Last night, I finished up earlier than normal because I was really feeling fatigued. After moving away from my desk I realised how thirsty I was and I was starving! While uzzling down a huge glass of water it dawned on me…I didn’t drink any water, all day!
I’m sure we have all done this and probably far too often. Its a simple habit to change and it will make a huge difference to your health. So I thought I would remind myself and my parched friends out there the effects of not drinking enough water!
In this video I will share with you these: 5 horrible facts: what happens to your body when you don’t drink enough water.
Fact #1: you lose water throughout the day through your breath, sweat, urine and bowel movements, even more in hotter climates
Fact #2: when dehydrated your body doesn’t have enough fluid to get blood to too our organs!
Fact #3: lack of water increased chances of kidney stones, heart attack and other serious health risks.
Fact #4: lack of water slows your metabolism! And we don’t want that to happen?!
Fact #5: not enough water increases appetite! Studies show that those who drink water before eating, eat on average eat 75-90 less calories, this can add up to 1 kilo in a few months.
ALSO.. not drinking enough water may send your mind and body into stress adding other health risks to your list:
Keep in mind drinking too much water is not good for you, so make sure you have the recommended amount for your size, shape, climate and activities.
So if you are wondering why the weight is not budging or if you are putting on weight even though you are healthy then maybe water is just what you need!
I can tell you, I will definitely be keep a huge bottle next to my desk from now on.
